The Medina City School District encompasses approximately 52 square miles which includes the City of Medina and Montville, Medina and a portion of Lafayette Townships. The district has seven elementary buildings, two middle schools, and one high school.
Utilizing a collaborative approach, we are able to provide outstanding academics and extracurricular activities to our students in an effort to ensure that our students receive a well-rounded education. We are a district which consists of community schools where all members play an important role in the development of our students.
Our ultimate goal is not just graduation but providing students with the necessary skills to be good citizens and successful adults as they navigate through life. It is important to instill good moral values and character that reflect the pride and expectations of our community.

Applications for Typically Developing Peers Accepted at Helping Hands Preschool Beginning January 31, 2024
Applications are being accepted for typically developing peers for Medina City Schools’ Helping Hands Preschool beginning January 31, 2024. To apply, click on this link to complete the form.
Helping Hands is a preschool program that is part of the Medina City Schools and is housed at Northrop Elementary School, 950 East Reagan Parkway. This 5-Star rated program provides mandated preschool services to children three to five years of age with disabilities and offers a developmentally appropriate preschool experience for a select number of typical peers. Helping Hands provides high-quality programming that focuses on the Ohio Learning Content Standards in preparation for kindergarten.
Two sessions are offered: the morning session from 9:00 AM-11:40 AM Monday through Thursday and the afternoon session from 12:40 PM-3:20 PM Monday through Thursday. The cost for typical peers is $160.00 per month, and students with disabilities are at no cost to parents.

Precaution Report: February 26, 2024
Based on the current five-year forecast, the District will be in a deficit in year three of the forecast. This has placed the District on fiscal precaution. The mandated report required by the State was presented to the Board of Education and the public during the Board's regular meeting on Monday, February 26.
