Ms. Katie Hartung


Katie Hartung is considered an instructional leader with a strong foundation in special education.  Prior to coming to Medina City Schools, she was the Director of Special Education and Assistant Principal at Julie Billiart School in Lyndhurst, OH.  Before her time at Julie Billiart School, she was an intervention specialist at the Frederick County Public Schools in Frederick County, MD.  


Katie graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Education as an intervention specialist teaching students with moderate-to-intensive needs ages 5-21 and minored in psychology.  She received her Master of Science degree in special education from John Hopkins University and holds several certificates relative to special education. Katie has a wide variety of experiences that will serve in meeting the diverse needs of our students with disabilities. She brings expertise in collaboration and will aid in building consistency in our practices across the District.
