ProgressBook

ProgressBook enables the parent to view grades, missing assignments, attendance and more. To initiate this account, a registration key was sent to all Primary Parents in the students registration file. This approach is done to ensure that the legally responsible individuals receive the registration key for their child. If a second registration key is needed, one can be generated following the instructions on the form listed below. Registration keys were sent out in the Fall and will be resent again in the Spring.
To comply with HB33, we are now required to report to parents all student results for state testing (End of Course, OST) in June. Medina City Schools will do this by uploading individual results to the ProgressBook application so all parents who are logged in can access. We will also be sending home parent reports as we always have in the early part of the school year for you to view as a hard copy.

Chromebook 1:1
Medina City Schools is a 1:1 school district in grades K-12. 1:1 means one device for each student. The District Technology Vision Committee, comprised of teachers and administration, meet to determine the District direction for technology purchases. District in the surrounding area that are 1:1 include Brunswick, Black River, Cloverleaf, Buckeye and Wadsworth.
Currently, students in grades K and 1 are 1:1 with their devices remaining in their classrooms for daily use. These devices do not travel home with the students. All students in grades 2-12 are issued a Chromebook for daily use both in school and traveling home. These devices are issued to students new in grades 2, 6 and 9. The devices stay with students throughout the summer and are collected at the end of each top grade of each level (grades 5, 8 and 12).
The devices are purchased by the District, with an optional $30 insurance fee offered to parents which would cover the cost of fixing the Chromebook one time if it were to break. Because we are now 1:1, we ask that all students who travel with their device be responsible for bringing it to and from school each day. It is expected that students bring a charged device each day. High school students can expect to be able to pick up their Chromebook in early August during orientation. In order for a student to receive their Chromebook at the high school level, parents/guardians must sign the Acceptable Use Policy on Final Forms during the student update period prior to receiving the device. All Chromebooks must be returned at the end of the school year (in grades 5, 8 and 12) or if a student leaves the District.
Students, parents/guardians have until September 15th of each school year to waive the optional insurance. Students, parents/guardians will be assessed the $30 insurance fee after the 15th. This fee will show up on the student’s fee schedule.
