About Us
Home of the Battling Bees
Medina City Schools is a suburban district covering approximately 52 square miles, including the City of Medina, Medina Township, Montville Township, and a portion of Lafayette Township, and is home to approximately 6,000 students. Our PK-12 school system includes five elementary buildings, two middle schools, one high school, one preschool, and an alternative school.
At the home of the Battling Bees, we are leading the way for innovation in education and making connections with standards through the integration of student-centered learning through our Portrait of a Bee and Deeper Learning Framework. US News & World Report recently ranked Medina High School #60 in Ohio and #2 in Medina County. The Ohio Department of Education & Workforce awarded the District 4.5 out of 5 stars on the 2025 State Report Card.

Class of 2025
Our students continue to achieve great heights.
- There is a total of 495 members of the Medina High School Class of 2025
- The Class of 2025 received a total of $3.5 million in scholarships
- 167 members of the Class of 2025 received the Ohio Academic Honors Diploma, 35 recipients of the Ohio Technical Diploma with Honors, one recipient of the Ohio STEM Honors Diploma, and two recipients of the Fine Arts Honors Diploma
- 62 members of the Class of 2025 were inducted into the National Honor Society
- Nine members of the Class of 2025 were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society
- The four-year graduation rate in 2025 was 96.7%
- 73% of graduates attend 4-year colleges or universities, 8% attend two-year community colleges or trade schools, 1% enter the military, 12% enter the workforce, and 4% are undecided. (2023 statistic)

21 AP courses are offered: AP Biology, AP Calculus (AB), AP Calculus (BC), AP Chemistry, AP Computer Science A, AP Computer Principles, AP English Language, AP English Literature, AP Environmental Science, AP Microeconomics, AP US History, AP Music Theory, AP Physics C: Mechanics, AP United States Government and Politics, AP Studio Art: Drawing Portfolio; AP Spanish V, and AP Statistics, AP Seminar, AP Precalculus, AP Human Geography.

In 2023, 417 students took 619 AP exams, of which 11% scored 5, 25% scored 4, and 38% scored 3.

Eight College Credit Plus courses: English Composition I, English Composition II, Introduction to Personal Finance, Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Sociology, Government and Politics in the United States, US History Since 1877, and Bach to Rock.

An average of 173 students in grades 9-12 engaged in a course or courses that earned college credit under the College Credit Plus Program: 1% in grade 9, 10% in grade 10, 37% in grade 11, and 57% in grade 12.

World languages offered: Grade 8: French and Spanish. Grades 9-12: American Sign Language, French, Spanish, and Latin.

Medina High School students achieved a composite ACT score of 22.7 (national score 19.8 and Ohio score 19.4) and a total SAT score of 1160 (national score 1050 and Ohio score 1053) in 2023.
