Medina High School Names May Students of the Month

Congratulations to Medina High School Juniors Lauren Rudd and Zachary Tundra, May Students of the Month.

Lauren Rudd is described as a student who brings positive energy to the classroom, always contributing in a mature way. She is bright, confident and good natured. Lauren has a passion for leading, while remaining humble and empathetic. Her class schedule has consisted of Honors and Advanced Placement courses. Lauren has earned the MHS Academic Distinction Award Summa Cum Laude her freshman, and sophomore years. She is a member of National Honor Society, VOFT, Spanish Club, OCOM, HUDDLE and Link Crew. Lauren is also a member of Junior Leadership and the Class of 2025 Student Council President. She is a varsity member of the girl’s tennis team, and was a competitive dancer for 13 years. Lauren is a peer tutor in the MHS Writing Studio. Lauren plans on attending a university after graduation, studying early education. Lauren works at Superior Cleaners, babysits, and dog watches. Lauren is the daughter of Kerry and Kristie Rudd.

Zachary Tondra is self-motivated and hard working. He is always ready to take the initiative when faced in an unfamiliar situation. Zach demonstrates a good curiosity in the classroom and is well respected by his teachers and classmates. Zachary’s class schedule has consisted of Advanced Placement, Honors, and College Credit Plus courses. He has earned the MHS Academic Distinction Award Summa Cum Laude his freshman and sophomore years. Zachary is a member of National Honor Society, HUDDLE, OCOM, and Communications Officer elect for Key Club. Zach is a member of the Principal’s SOAR Student Team. He plays trumpet for the Medina Musical Bees Marching Band. He is a Marching Band trumpet section leader, an Encore Pit Band section leader and the Encore Pit Band trumpet section leader, and also a member of the Stardusters Jazz Ensemble. Zachary volunteers at St. Francis as an Alter Server and musician. Zachary works at Giant Eagle. After graduation, he plans on attending university to study engineering. Zachary is the son of Brian and Kathy Tondra.
