Medina High School February Students of the Month

Congratulations to the Medina High School seniors Jessica Piatak and Michael Weber-February Students of the Month

Jessica realizes the power of kind work or a simple smile. She is always ready to help and support her classmates with words of encouragement or offering explanations in academics. Jessica’s high school classes consist of AP, CCP and Honors classes. She is a HUDDLE leader, the current vice president of Spanish Club, and is a member of Key Club, Chemistry Club and National Honor Society. She is a Rensselaer Medalist, which recognizes outstanding math and science students. She was also a three year member of the Medina High School golf team. Jessica volunteers at a Cleveland Food Pantry and tutors in the Medina High School tutoring center. Jessica works as an after school nanny, babysitting for several families in her neighborhood. After graduation, Jessica plans on attending college to study electrical engineering. Jessica is the daughter of Alan and Deanna Piatak.

Michael is described as intelligent, mature, hardworking and polite. He is always ready to lend a helping hand and is not afraid to tackle the tough questions in class. Michael carries a full class schedule of AP and Honors classes. Michael has competed on the Medina High School Penguin Bowl, a competition for high school students on topics related to the study of the oceans and is a valued member of the Medina High School Varsity bowling team. In addition to spending many hours volunteering at an animal shelter and tutoring in the Medina High School tutoring center, Michael works almost full time at McDonalds. After graduation, Michael intends on pursuing a degree in business. Michael is the son of Richard and Karen Weber.
