Claggett Middle School Seventh Grade Students and Staff Create An Atmosphere of Giving

Ericka Kott, seventh grade language arts teacher at Claggett Middle School, has been working on a project to organize the donation of Thanksgiving meals with several of her homebase colleagues. She submitted her project to Thrivent Financial to create an Action Team, bringing the project to the attention of Channel 3-WKYC. Engaging many seventh grade students and staff, the project came to fruition on Monday, November 19 as eleven Thanksgiving meal boxes were packed and prepared to be delivered to local families in need, thanks to the generosity of Thrivent, Claggett seventh grade students, and several members of the seventh grade staff.

WKYC Channel 3, together with Melissa Bell from Thrivent, came to Claggett Middle School during the packing on November 19 to record the action and prepare for a segment that will ultimately be a 30 second spot featured on Channel 3 that will run for several days and times beginning at a date to be determined in December.

Thrivent Financial is a Fortune 500 not-for-profit financial services organization headquartered in Minneapolis, MN and Appleton, WI with a field office located in Cleveland. Part of Thrivent’s mission is to give back to the communities in which they serve.
