Medina High School Orchestra Takes Trip of a Lifetime
Over spring break, the Medina High School orchestra traveled to Chicago, IL from March 21-24. The student/family supported trip was filled with activities, learning opportunities, and performances in some of the most renowned spaces around Chicago. The group toured museums, took a tour of the William Harris Lee Workshop, home to one of the world’s most respected maker of fine string instruments, visited Millennium Park and the iconic Cloud Gate sculpture, better known as The Bean, created by sculptor Anish Kapoor, as well as taking in Hamilton and the Blue Man Group.
While there, the group had a chance to participate in an orchestral clinic with Robert Hasty, Director of Orchestras at Northwestern University. The highlight of the trip-their own performance at the Field Museum of Natural History in the Grand Hall.
