Bike to School Challenge Kicks Off with Event At Garfield Elementary
On Thursday, April 28, 2022, the Medina City Schools and Century Cycles Medina hosted a community event at Garfield Elementary from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM to kick off the Bike to School Challenge, which began on May 2 through May 6, 2022.
During the two-hour event, there was entertainment by “The Music Men,” food for purchase, and a new bike helmet giveaway thanks to the generosity of the Medina Kiwanis Clubs. Gently used bikes were distributed on a first-come, first- basis and bike safety checks were available with certified mechanics from Century Cycles. The Medina Police Department was on hand to register bikes.
The Bike to School Challenge is a district-wide program open to all Medina City Schools students and staff, thanks to the partnership with Century Cycles Medina and the many generous sponsors of this event: Armstrong Cable, Cool Beans Cafe’, Corkscrew Saloon, Courthouse Pizzeria, Discount Drug Mart, Medina Kiwanis Clubs, Mellion Orthodontics, Roto-Rooter, and Subway.
