With the help of Root's STePS parent group, Root Rocks Cafe was set up to promote positive behaviors within the building. When a student earns a trip to the cafe they can relax, enjoy their friends, electronics, games, a chalkboard, and treats such as hot chocolate, hot apple cider, popcorn or a snack. Students can utilize the cafe during study hall or recess.

Parents may volunteer at the cafe by going through the Medina City Schools volunteer background check process and signing up via an online calendar. Donations can also be made for the cafe by signing up online.
