Principal

Mrs. Cindy Grice, principal of A.I. Root Middle School, is entering her 26th year in education with the Medina City Schools. She began her career teaching 4th grade for four years at Ella Canavan and H.G. Blake Elementaries.  She taught 6th grade at A. I. Root Middle School for five years, where she also served for 2 years as Assistant Principal. She was previously the principal of Waite Elementary for 13 years.  Mrs. Grice holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Masters of Educational Administration from The University of Akron.  She enjoys camping, traveling, and spending time with her husband and two sons.

Associate Principal

We are excited to welcome Haley Mueller to Root and Medina City Schools.  Haley holds a Bachelor's degree from Kent State and a Masters degree from Cleveland State.  She began her teaching career as a middle school social studies teacher in Akron, then served as an instructional coach.  Most recently, she served as an elementary/middle school principal in the Cleveland area.  Haley is excited to meet and work with the staff, students, and families of Root and Medina!
