Julia Gardner is a great student and always has a smile on her face. She is also kind, polite, and a motivated student. Julia is always willing to help out another student, showing concern for others who are having a bad day. She has a willingness to help students in class understand something using her own words that make the lesson click. Julia’s class schedule consists of Advance Placement and College Credit Plus classes. She has earned the MHS Academic Distinction Award, Summa Cum Laude her freshman, sophomore, and junior years. Julia is a member of National Honor Society, Link Crew, HUDDLE, and Spanish Club. Julia is a four year member of the MHS Girls Lacrosse Team, and played Club Lacrosse this past summer. She has participated in competitive dance for the last 10 years. Julia volunteers in the Joyce B. Ebner Tutoring Center as a peer tutor. Julia volunteers as a buddy at Medina Top Soccer, an adaptive soccer program for athletes with special needs. She is also a youth leader at Heartland Community Church. She works at Schoolhouse Scoops. She is planning on attending college, majoring in Engineering/STEM. Julia is the daughter of Brian and Wendy Gardner.
Kaitlin Horner is not just an excellent student, she's always a positive presence in the classroom and in extracurricular activities. It's hard to remember a time when Kaitlin doesn't have a smile on her face. Kaitlin also possesses tremendous artistic gifts: last year, every art project she submitted for the Ohio Junior Classical League Convention finished in the top ten in the state, including an amazing four first place finishes. Her classes have consisted of Advance Placement and Honors courses. Kaitlin has earned the MHS Academic Distinction Award, Summa Cum Laude her freshman, sophomore, and junior years. She is a member of National Honor Society, Link Crew, HUDDLE, Book Club, is the Latin Club’s Co-Consul, and was a member of Junior Leadership of Medina county. Kaitlin is very involved in theater, not only at the high school, but also Medina Show Biz Company. She has performed in The Music Man, The Addams Family, Shakespear in Love and Tinfoil Memories. Kaitlin volunteers in the Joyce B. Ebner Tutoring Center as a peer tutor. Kaitlin also volunteers at Feeding Medina County and for Safety Town. She is the neighborhood gardener and pet sitter. Kaitlin is planning on attending college, and would like to go into Theater. Kaitlin is the daughter of Mark and Stacy Horner.
